Elements of building constructions. Fire-resistance tests methods. Load-bearing and separating constructions
Full title and description
GOST 30247.1-94 — "Конструкции строительные. Методы испытаний на огнестойкость. Несущие и ограждающие конструкции" / "Elements of building constructions. Fire-resistance test methods. Load-bearing and separating constructions". The standard specifies standardized laboratory methods for determining fire-resistance characteristics of load-bearing and separating structural elements under standard fire exposure.
Abstract
This part of the GOST 30247 series sets out test procedures and criteria used to establish fire-resistance limits for walls, partitions, floors, roofs, columns, beams and other load-bearing and enclosing construction elements when subjected to standard furnace temperatures and related evaluation criteria. It is intended to be used together with the series' general requirements document (GOST 30247.0).

Scope
Applies to laboratory fire-resistance testing of load-bearing and separating (enclosing) building elements without openings, and to typical structural components such as self-supporting and curtain walls, partitions, floor and roof elements (with or without suspended ceilings), columns, beams, girders, arches, trusses, frames and other similar structural members. The standard is used in conjunction with GOST 30247.0 which contains general test requirements.
Key topics and requirements
- Definition of specimen types and preparation rules for load-bearing and separating constructions.
- Standard fire exposure (time–temperature) curve to be used for furnace testing (alignment with ISO 834 principles where applicable).
- Measurement and criteria for fire-resistance limit values (loss of loadbearing capacity, integrity, and insulation where relevant).
- Instrumentation, observation and test-recording requirements (temperature measurement, deflection/settlement, flaming, and failure modes).
- Reporting format and required test data to establish declared fire-resistance periods.
Typical use and users
Used by test laboratories, building product manufacturers, design offices, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities to determine and declare the fire-resistance performance of structural elements and assemblies for compliance, certification and design verification.
Related standards

FAQ
Q: What is this standard?
A: GOST 30247.1-94 is a national (GOST) standard that defines laboratory methods for fire-resistance testing of load-bearing and separating building elements.
Q: What does it cover?
A: It covers specimen preparation, standard fire exposure (time–temperature), instrumentation, acceptance/failure criteria (loss of bearing capacity, integrity, insulation as applicable) and the reporting necessary to establish declared fire-resistance periods for structural elements.
Q: Who typically uses it?
A: Fire-testing laboratories, manufacturers of structural building products, certification bodies, building designers and regulatory authorities use the standard for testing, certification and design compliance.
Q: Is it current or superseded?
A: The standard is recorded as active (действующий) in national catalogues; users should verify whether any later revisions, replacements or national technical regulations apply for their jurisdiction before relying on declared conformity.
Q: Is it part of a series?
A: Yes — it is Part 1 of the GOST 30247 series of standards on fire-resistance test methods for building constructions and is intended to be used together with GOST 30247.0 (general requirements) and the other part-standards addressing specific element types.
Q: What are the key keywords?
A: Fire-resistance, fire test methods, load-bearing constructions, separating/enclosing constructions, furnace curve, fire-resistance limit, GOST 30247.1-94.
