ГОСТ 7473-2010
Fresh concrete. Specifications
Full title and description
GOST 7473-2010 — "Смеси бетонные. Технические условия" (English title: "Fresh concrete. Specifications"). This межгосударственный (interstate) standard specifies technical requirements, classification, methods of control and acceptance, documentation, supply and transportation rules for ready-to-use concrete mixes (heavy, fine-grained and lightweight) produced with cementitious binders for monolithic and precast concrete and reinforced concrete products.
Abstract
GOST 7473-2010 consolidates requirements for fresh (ready-to-use) concrete mixtures, covering definitions and classification (workability, density, stiffness), technological quality indicators (slump/consistence, density, segregation, entrained air, temperature and setting/working time), acceptance by batch, required test methods, producer quality documentation and guarantees, and rules for delivery and transport to the consumer. The standard replaced the previous edition GOST 7473-94 and was introduced for voluntary application in Russia from 1 January 2012.
General information
- Status: Active / in force (межгосударственный стандарт; действующий).
- Publication date: Designation year 2010; officially introduced (date of application) 1 January 2012 (Enacted by Rosstandart order dated 13 May 2011, No. 71‑ст).
- Publisher: Adopted as a межгосударственный стандарт (Interstate standard) — prepared under the Interstate (EASC) framework and introduced in the Russian Federation by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart).
- ICS / categories: 91.100.30 — Construction materials and building; concrete and concrete products.
- Edition / version: GOST 7473-2010 (current edition; re‑issued references note a republication/reprint in later compilations).
- Number of pages: Publisher/format dependent — commonly distributed as about 20–25 pages (page counts vary by publisher/format).
Scope
The standard applies to ready‑to‑use concrete mixtures of heavy, fine‑grained and lightweight concretes made with cement binders that are supplied to consumers for erecting monolithic and precast‑monolithic structures or used at plants for manufacture of products and precast concrete and reinforced concrete elements. It sets requirements for technological characteristics of mixes in the fresh state, procedures for manufacturing control, conformity assessment of quality indicators, and rules for measurement of quantities supplied.
Key topics and requirements
- Classification of concrete mixes by workability/consistence (slump and penetration/flow classes), stiffness and density.
- Limits and tolerances for technological properties in the fresh state: slump/consistence, average density, segregation/bleeding, entrained air content, temperature of the mix, and retainment of properties over time.
- Acceptance rules — batch/lot acceptance, required documentation of quality for each load or batch, and producer quality certificates (forms specified in normative appendices).
- Specified methods of sampling and testing for control of fresh‑state properties and referencing relevant test procedures.
- Requirements for supply and transportation: temperature limits, maximum time between batching and delivery, and conditions to prevent segregation or loss of properties during transport.
- Procedures for manufacturer guarantees, conformity assessment and periodic control of materials, equipment and mixing technology.
Typical use and users
Primary users are ready‑mix concrete producers, concrete batching plant operators, construction contractors, precast concrete manufacturers, independent testing laboratories, procurement engineers and regulatory/inspection authorities in states applying EASC/GOST standards. The standard is used when specifying and accepting delivered concrete mixes for construction works and for establishing producer quality procedures.
Related standards
GOST 7473-2010 was developed with regard to the European regional standard EN 206-1:2000 ("Concrete — Specification, performance, production and conformity") and replaces the earlier national/interstate edition GOST 7473-94. It is typically used alongside standards that define hardened concrete properties and execution rules (for example, national GOSTs on concrete strength testing and concrete execution standards).

FAQ
Q: What is this standard?
A: GOST 7473-2010 is an interstate (EASC) standard titled "Смеси бетонные. Технические условия" / "Fresh concrete. Specifications" that defines technical requirements, classification and acceptance rules for ready‑to‑use concrete mixes.
Q: What does it cover?
A: It covers classification of mixes (workability, density, stiffness), technological quality indicators for fresh concrete, sampling and test methods for fresh‑state properties, acceptance and documentation procedures, supply/transport requirements and producer guarantees. Appendices include forms for quality documents and recommended mixing durations.
Q: Who typically uses it?
A: Ready‑mix concrete manufacturers, concrete batching plants, construction contractors, precast manufacturers, QA/QC and laboratory personnel, procurement specialists and regulatory/inspection bodies in jurisdictions that apply the interstate (GOST/EASC) standards.
Q: Is it current or superseded?
A: GOST 7473-2010 is the current (in‑force) edition and it replaced GOST 7473-94; it was introduced for application in the Russian Federation from 1 January 2012 by Rosstandart order No. 71‑ст dated 13 May 2011.
Q: Is it part of a series?
A: It is part of the body of interstate (EASC/GOST) standards covering concrete and concrete products and is commonly used in conjunction with other standards covering hardened concrete testing, execution of concrete works and material specifications (for example national standards derived from or aligned with EN 206).
Q: What are the key keywords?
A: Fresh concrete, ready‑mix, slump, workability, density, segregation, entrained air, mixing time, acceptance, quality document, transport, GOST 7473‑2010.
